Hush little Henry don't you cry
Moma's gonna build you a car that flies.
And if that flying car won't go
Moma's gonna take you to playing the snow.
And if that snow should start to melt
Moma's gonna buy you a Batman belt.
And if that Batman belt's a dud
Moma's gonna let you roll in the mud.
And if that mud is not your wish
Moma's gonna take you to catch some fish.
And if those fish they will not bite
Moma's gonna love you and hold you tight.
I started working on the lyrics to this song the day we brought Henry home from the hospital. (July 4, 2010) It's sung to the tune of Mockingbird. I've sung it to him almost everyday since then. Now he actually asks for it every night.
I love singing to him and I think he loves me singing to him also. I don't have a great voice but he doesn't seem to mind. I sing mostly primary songs and it always invites the spirit into our house. I love the way our house feels at night!!! As Henry drifts off to sleep he gets to go to bed with happy thoughts and a smile that will chase away all his bad dreams. I always end up saying my prayers right by his bed. It's just so wonderful! It's great to be a mommy - especially to such a sweet little boy!!
Holden Each Other
We are the Holden's. Kevin, Georgia, and Henry. Kevin makes the money. Georgia chases Henry. Henry... is 2 years old. Our family also includes, Jordan, Jade, Sam and Cooper - as well as Gramma and Papa Holden. Jordan is the oldest girl and lives in California with her boyfriend Michael. Jade is the youngest girl and lives in Las Vegas ... for now. Sam and Cooper are the puppies. Gramma and Papa will follow Henry wherever he goes!

From chips to tortillas
Kevin came home the other day and said, "Light bulb" which is code for I have a brilliant idea. He said there is no local tortilla company in Louisiana. He wants to start one. YIKES!!! I'm freaking out!! Another start up? Does he know what that means? That's so much work and time and money and we will never see him again and we will be broke forever, etc etc etc!!! But he said he would do it different. He said this time we have money. This time we have low overhead. This time he will do it right. He learned so much the last time (actually two times if you count the croutons but we don't count that). So I'm totally fighting this. I told him no way. I told him he better do a lot of research and really check this out. I told him I don't like it. But of course everyone and their pet monkey thinks its a brilliant idea (because it is, but don't tell him I said that). He's got tons of people that already want to either work with him or back him or both and everything seems to be falling into place. But I'm getting crankier and crankier cuz I don't want anything to do with another start up! So I prayed about it. I'm like there's no way I'm getting any kind of response cuz I know this is not the right thing for him to do. He needs a job and health insurance and security. But low and behold what the heck? I got such a confirming good feeling when I prayed! I couldn't deny it! It was like a smack in the face!! This is what he is supposed to do!!! Ugh!! Well, I will say this... I never have doubted his ability to do it. I never have said he can't - just that I didn't want him to. But when the Lord steps in and tells me he should, how can I argue with that? So Louisiana, ready or not, here come the tortillas!!!!

Henry Quote of the Day 6/30/12
Today is Henry's 2nd birthday! This morning we asked him, "do you know what today is?" and he said very nonchalantly, it's Henry's birthday today."
Later we went to Sam's Club (one of Henry's favorite places) and we got in line to get him an icee and something to eat. I asked him if he wanted a hot dog or pizza and he said, "a icee". So I said ok but do you want a hot dog or pizza with it? Henry thought about it and said, "a hot dog". I said ok I'll get you a hot dog and then stopped me and put both hands on either side of my face (to make me look right at him) and said, "No I want an icee!" I told him I would get him an icee but did he want pizza and an icee or a hot dog and an icee. Then he said, "a hot dog and an icee".

The Beginning of the End...
Today marks the beginning of the end of our lives in Louisiana. First, let me back up. In 2000 Kevin built a potato chip plant that he later sold to Zapps and we moved here to Louisiana in 2010. The main owner of Zapps, Mr. Zappe, passed away in June of that same year (Henry was born 30 days later and we gave him the middle name Joseph after Mr. Ronald Joe Zappe - but that's a whole other story). Kevin has been running all three Zapps plants in Louisiana, Pennsylvania and California since then. In April of 2011 the Zapps company was sold to Utz Snacks in Pennsylvania. The merger was great at first - but soon the honeymoon ended when a new president took over and things have gone down hill ever since. The new president is the son-in-law of the owner of Utz and will one day be the owner himself. He wants to do things himself - and does not want the help of anyone else. Kevin has been in the snack food business for many years. He brings a lot of experience to the table. He's also an entrepreneur and not used to working for a big corporation.
Today there is a big meeting with Utz and Zapps. Utz is giving Zapps their new reporting structure. Kevin will no longer be running the company. That is the beginning of the end. It is time for us to move on. Time for the next big adventure...
